The sanctioning of Palestine Action and Masar Badil by the U.S. Treasury Department follows a pattern of disruption designed to criminalize popular support for the Palestinian struggle for liberation, return, and self-determination.

The Diaspora Pa’lante Collective recognizes these punitive measures as an escalation in the systematic drive to eliminate the Palestinian people, including the ongoing blockade on Gaza, the targeting of Palestinian charities, cuts to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, and further sanctions and designations intended to bury the Palestinian cause.

We stand without hesitation alongside those who continue to bear the costs of resisting the genocidal agenda of imperialism.

This decision is cynically justified as a mechanism for countering terrorism, while its authors are waging a campaign of terror against Palestinians before the eyes of the world.

In truth, these movements embody an unwavering commitment to the pursuit of justice and peace.

Their combined efforts have weakened Israel’s occupation, exposed its vulnerability, and commanded respect for the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people.

For daring to challenge the West without compromise or retreat, for refusing to concede the legitimacy of their just struggle, and as a desperate attempt to reverse the tide of history bending toward the liberation of humanity from the grip of imperialist aggression and colonial occupation, Washington is determined to silence them.

Lebanese combatant Georges Abdallah reminds us that any triumph against imperialism anywhere on the planet is a victory for us all.

Far beyond symbolic affinity, the struggles of Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran are in every way our own.

So too is the defense of Cuba, whose key industries and support networks have been sanctioned by the U.S. State Department in an effort to criminalize international solidarity and to bring the island to its knees.

Any threat to the U.S. position in Puerto Rico must be prepared to withstand the repressive measures imposed upon all who resist imperialism across the world.

Today, these measures are deployed by an apparatus whose capacity for surveillance, control, pacification, and detention is being refined for maximum efficiency.

Puerto Rico’s march toward independence and socialism is inseparable from the expulsion of Zionism from Palestine, the victory and longevity of Cuba’s revolutionary process, and the defeat of fascism within the claimed borders of the United States.

These movements represent the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people. Their political commitments remain impervious to imperialist reaction. Their power threatens the stability of colonial rule. The steadfast commitment of their prisoners demonstrates the will to advance toward victory at any cost.

Until Palestine is free, from the river to the sea, we stand firm in their defense.
